Corporate Residency MBA Position: Debt Management Analyst, Taxpayer Services and Debt Management Branch, Ottawa

Job Description

The position we are offering provides complex work as part of a multi-disciplinary team conducting various research studies in the area of tax debt management. Our team is dedicated to providing accurate and valuable research to inform Canada Revenue Agency strategies for managing the tax debt in a relaxed and positive work environment. Through on-the-job training and mentoring, you will learn about the Agency’s debt management processes, develop knowledge about the organization as a whole and how to navigate and use its vast wealth of administrative data. Corporate Residency MBA Position: Web Operations, Tax Web Site, Ottawa

Who we are

The CRA Web Operations Section manages Web-based products to ensure individuals and businesses receive information on how to comply with and understand their obligations and entitlements under Canada's tax laws. We provide services for all CRA Web pages under the Individuals, Business, Non-Resident, Tax Professionals and Trust Administrators banners.   

The team comprises information architects, program officers and Web developers that make our information relevant, accessible and easily found by the audience in context of the vast amount of information on the CRA Internet site.

The Web Operations Section also manages the Web functionality of Smartlinks. Smartlinks is a service that allows users to enter their phone number from a Web page, which connects a telephone agent with expertise in the related-area to the user by auto-dialing the number. Data from these calls is then analyzed to further improve Web content. 

Additionally, we are committed to improving the CRA Web site by performing usability studies to validate our architecture, Web functionality and information as well as researching the use of new methods and technologies, such as content reuse using XML.

Tax Programs Officer, Atlantic Regional Office, Halifax, NS

 

Job Description

 

The Tax Programs Division of the Canada Revenue Agency’s Atlantic Regional Office is responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of tax programs in the Atlantic Region. This is done for the various taxation divisions including Compliance, Enforcement, Scientific Research, Appeals, Client Services, Revenue Collections, Benefit Programs, Individual Returns and Payments Processing and Business Returns and Payments Processing.

 

The successful candidate will work closely with one or more of the Division’s Program Advisors and Senior Research Analysts to develop knowledge about the delivery of CRA’s programs in the six Tax Services Offices and two Taxation Centres in the Atlantic Region. You will learn about CRA’s organizational structure, our budgeting and forecasting processes as well as the strategic delivery of our various compliance-based activities. You will be a full participant in the planning and development of communiqués, reports and presentations and will also be expected to attend meetings and conferences where appropriate.

 

Within this context and consistent with the skills and interests of the student, one or more specific research projects (of a breadth and depth appropriate to the programme) will be pursued with the aim of informing the future CRA approaches to tax compliance.
