Global Business Services (GBS) is responsible for a number of key functions relating to TD Securities’ Trading, Corporate and Investment banking activities. The Internship Program
The Intern would have an opportunity to work on an entry level eight month on-the-job experience in the interesting and dynamic world of capital markets and international banking. Our Intern will have an opportunity to work in one of three areas – Finance, Global Middle Office, Operations.
TD Securities Global Business Services
Finance: Supports the development and achievement of business unit financial objectives and provides expertise and guidance to TD Securities management.
Global Middle Office (GMO): Promotes business transparency through the independent measurement and reporting of trading risk, profit and loss and valuation control.
Operations: Provides efficient and effective delivery of end-to-end transaction services as set out in corporate policies and procedures.
Departments include: Customer Operations & Support, Payments & Settlements, Office of Data Management, Cash Operations, Business Continuity Management and Operational Risk Management.
About the Candidate
- The successful candidate will be part of a team with targeted deliverables, working on initiatives designed to improve processes that support the TD Securities’ Trading, Corporate and Investment bank.
- The candidate should be a self-starter and team player who wants to work in a dynamic environment with other great people. They should be able to establish priorities, possess strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Solid Excel skills are an asset.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree with high academic standing;
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
- Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills; can see the “big picture” in a complex environment;
- Independent thinker who takes initiative to capitalize on opportunities or minimize problems;
- Excellent verbal communication (both one-on-one and in small groups) and written communication skills; and
- Ability to develop good business relationships with customers, business partners and stakeholders.
