Grades

This is a graduate program. As such, expectations are high. Faculty of Graduate Studies and School of Business regulations state that a course with a grade below B– is considered a failed course.

Grades submitted for classes taken outside Dalhousie by letter of permission must conform to Dalhousie standards; that is, a grade of “C” recorded in another institution’s transcript will be treated as a “Failure” (below the minimum passing grade of B–) on the Dalhousie transcript.

If a single course is failed, the candidate may continue. However, if a core course is failed, it may prevent the completion of later courses for which it was a prerequisite, thus resulting in a one-year delay in completing the program.

A second failure in the program, regardless of when such failure occurs, will normally result in immediate dismissal from the MBA program. Please see the Faculty of Graduate Studies regulations in the calendar for further details. In these cases, students must apply for readmission.

The instructor will make available a written description of the method of evaluation to be used in the class. In any class for which 25 percent or more of the evaluation is based on group work, there must be an exam(s) that must be passed on average.

Students are expected to maintain continuous enrollment and registration and to follow the Code of Student Conduct.
